LACSON: CORRUPT LEADERS WILL PAY
Lacson says the happy days are over for corrupt leaders when he wins the presidential elections in 2022.
“It’s about time na ‘yung example, mangyari dun sa kataas-taasan,” the presidential candidate told Ted Failon in an interview with Radyo Singko.
According to Lacson, it won’t be enough to remove only the suspected corrupt underlings from position. “Paano susunod ang mga nasa baba kung makikita nila ‘yung nasa taas eh namamayagpag?”
The senator also promised that corrupt individuals in high government positions will suffer a heavy blow.
“Kung kami ang palarin, the Filipinos can witness a spectacle of a cabinet secretary turned rogue, na na-entrap for extortion.”
One of Lacson’s main agendas, when he becomes president, is to put an end to corruption. But the country already has a long record of presidential candidates promising the same thing, like current Pres. Rodrigo Duterte.
When asked by Failon what voters can hold onto with this promise, “track record” was the senator’s answer. According to Lacson, a true leader should be able to do what he preaches.
“Ni minsan hindi ako tumanggap ng suhol na kapalit ng public service. Mula nung nasa PNP, ngayong senador, yang mga lobby fund, talagang wala akong ganyan.”
In relation to this, the senator also talked about the appointment, and even promotion, of some government employees already embroiled in corruption cases, case in point the Bureau of Customs and its shabu scandal.
